Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of our most commonly asked questions, if you have any other questions please get in touch.

About The Clinic

What is your cancellation/late policy?

Please inform your practitioner of any delay, if possible. Your session may be cancelled if they have not heard from you within 15 minutes of the agreed appointment time. Late arrival may result in reduced treatment time or forfeiting of the appointment if it is not feasible to start the session. Where possible, your practitioner will do all they can to provide a treatment for you.

If you are unable to attend your appointment, please contact us. We operate a 24 hour cancellation policy and failure to cancel or rearrange before the 24 hours will result in the loss of the treatment and a charge of the full cost of treatment.

What payments are accepted?

Payments accepted vary depending on your practitioner. We always accept card and bank transfers, and some practitioners accept cash.

If you have any questions, please contact your practitioner.

What should I expect coming to the clinic?

Our address is 6a Love Lane, Pinner, Middx, HA5 3EF

We are located on the first floor of the building, above Zaza. It is the blue door right in the middle of the two restaurant windows, you will see our sign outside. When you arrive, ring on the door buzzer and you will be let in.

At the top of the first flight of stairs you will see signs directing you to the clinic. Take a seat in the waiting room and your practitioner will be out to greet you as soon as they are able.

We have some delicious herbal teas in our waiting room, so help yourself and allow some time to relax after your travel instead of rushing straight onto the treatment bed!

What parking and transport options are there?

Parking is available on the street outside the clinic, free for the first hour. There is also Love Lane Car Park just a 2 minute walk up the road from the clinic with ample parking spaces at £1 per hour.

We are located a 3 minute walk from Pinner Underground station. There are bus stops along the high street all within 2 minutes walk serving routes H12, H13 and 183.

Can my private health insurance cover my treatments?

Please check with your health provider before your appointment about what your insurance covers. It may be able to cover the cost of your treatments.

You will be responsible for paying after your treatment, and we will provide you with the receipts you need to claim the amount back with your insurance provider.

How accessible is the clinic?

The Blossom Tree Clinic is on the first floor of the building, which may mean some patients won’t be able to access the treatment rooms. There is one flight of stairs and unfortunately there is no lift available.

Once in the treatment area, if you are uncomfortable getting on the treatment bed, it may be possible to give a full treatment from a seated position in one of our comfortable armchairs. Please contact your practitioner in advance to discuss, and if you have any questions.

If you are coming for Acupuncture, Kate has a Level 3 Qualification in British Sign Language (BSL) and is passionately committed to making the clinic accessible to the Deaf and Hearing Impaired Community. For more information, feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.

About Acupuncture

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a 3000-year-old medicine originating from Ancient China. We use extremely fine needles in specific locations all over the body to treat various physical and mental conditions. Nothing is added through the needles, instead the stimulation of these points promotes your body’s natural ability to heal itself and rebalance.

Chinese Medicine theory views the body holistically, so your practitioner may ask you questions about all areas and workings of the body. This allows us to form a treatment plan and point prescription that is specific to your body and its unique needs.

While many patients find us to support them with recovery, Chinese Medicine places an important emphasis on preventing disease and keeping the body healthy.

If you would like to find out more about how Acupuncture can help support your health and any conditions you may have, please contact us.

What does Acupuncture feel like?

The most common misconception about acupuncture is the size of the needles. If you are imagining scary hospital needles, stop! Our needles are as fine as a strand of hair and many people do not even feel them as they enter the body.

We may use some techniques to stimulate the acupuncture points, many people describe this sensation as a tingling, warmth, electrical or similar. There should be no pain during your treatment.

How many treatments will I need?

The amount of treatments you will need will depend completely on the condition you are coming with, how long you have had it, and your body’s unique ability to heal.

Many patients receive a treatment once or twice a week for 4-12 treatments, then once their body has adjusted to their new pattern they come fortnightly or monthly to maintain their health, prevent relapse and just because they enjoy it!

How to prepare before your appointment?

Please ensure you have a substantial meal some time before your appointment, do not arrive with an empty stomach! Stay hydrated during the day and wear loose fitting, comfortable clothes if possible, if they can roll up to the elbows and knees easily that is perfect. Please bring a list of any medications you are taking.

If possible, arrive 15-5 mins before your treatment time. We have some delicious herbal teas in our waiting room, so help yourself and allow some time to relax after your travel instead of rushing straight onto the treatment bed!

What should I expect after treatment?

Acupuncture affect each person differently. Some people feel very energised, some relaxed and some feel tired, especially if it is your first time having acupuncture.

Please take note of how you feel and let your practitioner know. If you are able to take some time off to relax and enjoy the aftereffects of your treatment, we recommend you do so. It is best to avoid intense exercise, alcohol and drugs after as this will negate the effects of your treatment.

Can I have Acupuncture while I am pregnant?

The simple answer is, absolutely! Acupuncture can be extremely helpful for easing symptoms during pregnancy, preparing the body for birth and during labour. We have an adjustable couch and the tools to make you comfortable at all stages of your pregnancy.

If you are trying to get pregnant or are pregnant, please let your practitioner know as there are some points that are contraindicated during pregnancy.
